time stressIt’s the middle of May already, 2009. Seems like just yesterday that I was having a hard time remembering to write 2009 rather than 2008 on checks. Each day I wake up I start feeling mild rumblings of panic. I find it really hard to find time to look for work because I am so busy with other things. I am heavily involved with an entrepreneurial networking group – I’m Director of Membership and working on developing both an incubator program and a microlending bank for small businesses. Being involved in this can reap big rewards for my businesses in the long run so I think it is important. I am publicity chair of a chapter of National Association Women Business Owners and ambassador for our local chamber of commerce for the same reason. I volunteer for a Great Dane rescue group. I hate to give this up as it is my only non-business related activity besides church, but it does not contribute to my goal of finding work. I still have work from both of my businesses. It’s just not enough to pay my salary. It is covering my overhead, which is good. I’ve got to spend some time and figure out how to carve out more time in my day to make cold calls for the business, and also to look for a salaried job (to hedge my bets).
